Job Description

Upstream Solutions Inc is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Subsea Engineer for a 1 year Maternity Leave placement.

Direct accountability for Terra Nova support including:
  • Provides primary point of contact and focal point for all subsea facilities issues/problems and technical evaluations.
  • Provides technical support to onshore and offshore operations to ensure that all aspects of the subsea production system including the subsea manifolds, Xmas trees, and flowlines are maintained to meet the annual operating plan.
  • Provides subsea facilities input to a wells integrity management scheme to ensure all necessary parameters are measured/recorded throughout life of field to ensure integrity of field.
  • Liaise with Reservoir Management Team (RMT) and Drilling Completion & Intervention (DCI) Team to ensure best value, seeking low costs opportunities and alternatives to maximize field recovery.
  • Develop and implement a subsea facilities intervention, inspection/maintenance and repair strategy.
  • Manage and control a specialist subsea services support contract for planned and unplanned installation and intervention activities associated with the wells, manifolds, flowlines and risers.
  • Manage and control a subsea hardware frame agreement contract.
  • Assist with problem diagnosis, review of options, securing permissions and agreement of intervention scope with the service support contractor to maintain overall technical integrity of the subsea facilities.
Skills
  • Bachelor degree in engineering and minimum of 5 years related experience  in the petro-chemical / oil and gas business with desired experience in fixed and floating production systems, sub-sea & riser production systems, offshore pipelines, topsides facilities and systems and offshore operations  support.
  • Knowledge and experience in Environmental, safety and loss prevention process and practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in the design and operating principles of Subsea facilities associated with a major offshore FPSO project.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Project Management
  • Business management skills pertaining to project management, resource planning, budgeting and stewardship
  • Planning, communication and continuous improvement / re-engineering skills required to deliver overall value to project.
  • Computer fluent MS/Office
Working Conditions
  • This position is a specialized technical role.
  • The position provides support to internal and external stakeholders, often with short and urgent deadlines.
  • The job is located onshore in an office environment with the possibility of trips offshore to the FPSO, MODU and Supply Vessels.
  • Extended hours of work will potentially be required during T/A’s and other project work.
